    Description

Offering this vintage 8" tall, marked Japan underneath between his legs, Zoomer battery operated tin robot of the 1950s by Nomura in the rare red face, hands and legs color combination. Body is a gunmetal gray. This is not a reproduction and it has not been repainted or restored - all original! Even the red plastic inserts in his eyes and mouth remain intact. He holds his original red wrench. His original antenna moves up and down. Now for the details: It looks as if there was a cover on the on/off knob that is missing. It still turns, but not that easily. He has a few, not really too many for a toy of this age, scratches... look closely at the pictures...There is some missing paint on his hand holding the wrench, as you can see (photo #6) it's not awful just mentioned for accuracy as that's the worst of it. I would really say that the COSMETIC CONDITION IS VERY GOOD, but that is your decision to make. Now for the mechanics: I have tried this with a C battery and it doesn't work. Doesn't light up or walk. I'm no expert on this and can't tell you if it's a difficult fix or an easy one. Perhaps it's that the cover on the knob is  gone, or in the wiring, I don't know. What I can say is that we have owned this for about 35 years, bought as an antique, and have not stored it with a battery in it...EVER. Hope that helps. This is being sold "As Is" so please use the enlarge feature on the pictures. Coming to you  from a smoke and pet free home. Shipping cost via USPS Priority Mail includes full insurance and signature confirmation.
